Dionn Renee Williams was born in Harrisburg, Pa. and grew up in Middletown, a neighboring community. She benefited greatly from attending a school district that cultivated diversity, vision, and expression in students. At home, she was heavily influenced by her family’s involvement in arts and entertainment and support for her interests.
While in Junior High School, her artwork was attracting the attention of teachers who showcased her projects in local exhibitions. And, at the age of 12, she had displays in prominent galleries and the State Museum.
Temple University, one of the most prestigious art schools in the country, was her next stop. There, she was a regular on the Dean’s List and was elected Student Body President. Her junior year was spent abroad in Rome, where she studied the masters up close. She graduated with degrees in Fine Art and Graphic Design.
Dionn Reneé has an unusually broad perspective of the world, and art in particular. She was diagnosed with Lupus at age 13, and has met this challenge head on with a greater awareness and appreciation for what most of us take for granted. So early on she learned to appreciate and utilize every day that she can walk, explore, and create. She frequented the MoMa in New York to examine Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, Picasso, and Vincent Van Gogh. She has studied Michelangelo’s masterpieces on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, the Mona Lisa, in the Louvre in Paris, legendary artists of Spain, and on and on. Along with Italy, Spain, and France, she has visited England, Germany, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and nearly every state of the USA. These are resources in her imagination pool as well as the petal on a flower in her back yard or the empty stairwell of a train terminal. Her work as a painter is world class as are some of the subjects/clients, ranging from President Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Maya Angelou, to music artists, Eve, Rick Ross, and more than can be listed without redundancy. Her photography and graphic design is on the same level, including an artistic perspective and expression that doesn’t just come from a camera or a computer.
She has worked as head designer for a clothing company, created advertisement layouts for major magazines, developed numerous company and individual brands, graphics for movies and television, photographer at NY Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Red Carpet events in LA, website and graphic designer, and personal photographer for countless celebrities.
Her skills are constantly developing,
her vision ever evolving.
